Grodno State Medical University wasGrodno state medical university founded in 1958 and has been one of the leading medical institutions in the Republic of Belarus. Getting a study Visa into Belarus is easy. We will provide you with all you need to know about getting a study permit (Visa) to Belarus. Since Belarus is one of the best places to study, you will need to be prepared in order to meet the standard of Visa issuance requirements.  

То obtain a study visa, the following documents would be submitted to the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus or Consulate in your home country:

  • A passport valid for travel to Belarus and issued less than ten years validity. It should have at least two blank visa pages and should be valid for at least 90 days upon conclusion of your trip.
  • A completed Visa Application Form
  • An original of a letter of invitation from an Educational establishment or academic institution in the Republic of Belarus.
  • Educational certificate including all studied subjects and marks in it.
  • Medical certificate given by an official public health service in the native/country of arrival of the candidate.

GETTING A STUDY VISA TO BELARUS

Getting a student visa to Belarus is not so difficult. The Visa process is always very easy and you can hardly be refused a study visa, except you are not a real student. Below are the general Belarussian Embassy requirements for most countries.

  1. One copy of a duly completed Belarus visa application form.
  2.  One photograph to specification (6 months older photos not accepted).
  3.  International Passport. It shall be valid as long as at least 90 days after the expected date of departure.
  4.  Invitation Letter for the University from the Ministry of Education in Belarus.
  5.  Birth Certificate
  6. General Medical Test Results (This should Include HIV test).
  7. Educational Documents (Authenticated by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry Foreign Affairs in the country of origin).

Education in Belarus

Education is one of the main priorities of the national policy of the Republic of Belarus. The Republic of Belarus has an advanced system of education. The standard of literacy among adult population is 99.8%. The general basic, general secondary and professional education coverage of the working population is 98%. According to the standard of literacy among adult population and young people as well as to the number of students of the higher educational institutions, Belarus has proven to be up to standard of many developed countries of Europe and America.

Education in Belarus is free at all levels for Belarusian Citizens except higher education. The government ministry that oversees the running of the school systems is the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus. Each of the regions inside Belarus has oversight of the education systems, and students have the ability to attend either a public (state) or a private schools. The current structure of the educational system in Belarus was established by decree in 1994 act of the republic of Belarus. Belarus is a well-educated country, and there are many universities and colleges for post-secondary education in Belarus. There are medical schools with the world class facilities for medical practices. There are also technical and technological universities in the republic of Belarus, making it attractive to the outside world. In general, Belarusian schools are cheap and relatively affordable compared to other countries in Europe.


 Belarus has a well-recognized education system, including universities and further education institutions that attract numerous of people from all over the World. This is an overview on education in Belarus. From the pre-school education down to further education and the requirements for international students.

Pre-secondary education
Education in primary and secondary schools are required for children from the ages of six until fifteen. After finishing basic education, each student is given a certificate by the state and is able to enter the workforce or serve in the military (citizens). Students do have the option of going for a higher education or train in a vocational school; the length of the schooling depends on what the student has chosen.
Basic School education in Belarus
Most children in Belarus start school at the age of 6, an ideal age for most parents.
All pupils must follow the basic education curriculum up to the age of 15, and the vast majority of pupils stay at school until they finish their high school education at 18 but this age varies and is not a mandate.
At the age of 15, pupils that have successfully completed basic education can attend college or professional technical institutions where they can focus on completing their high school education and work toward a professional certificate. At the completion of a high school or professional certificate, students are allowed to apply to continue their education at the university level.
There are two official languages within the education system in Belarus, Russian and Belarusian.
Extended education in Belarus
Belarus has one of the highest student-to-population ratios in Europe. The higher education system in Belarus is seen as prestigious due to its high quality and affordability.
There are four main types of higher education establishments to choose from, which can be either private or state operated:

  • classical university
  • profile university or academy
  • institute
  • higher college

Most courses run for 5 years and students can choose to study full time, at evening classes or by correspondence. Grants are available for full-time students and scholarships are awarded to very gifted students. All higher education establishments are governed by the Ministry of Education in Belarus.

How do foreign students apply to study at universities in Belarus?
Once you have decided to continue your education at a university in Belarus, you will need to contact us in order to receive an invitation to apply to study there. To do this you will need to provide the following documents:

  • copy of your certificate of education showing your subjects and grades
  • copy of your Passport photograph.
  • copy of the data page of your International Passport.

Once you have chosen your university and your course, you will need to apply for a student visa.
Below are the general Belarussian Embassy requirements:

  • confirmation of acceptance at the university or college

Brest State Technical University is one of the largest scientific and educational centers in the western part of the Republic of Belarus. Brief History Of Brest State Technical University

This University began as a Civil Engineering Institute on April 1, 1966. The first intake was 330 full-time students and 110 evening-class students. The teaching staff numbered 32 teachers. In 1969 the number of students reached 2700, namely 1960 full-time students, 480 evening-class students, 260 part-time students. The teaching staff increased till 186 teachers. In 1989 the institute was reorganized into Polytechnic Institute. Since then Mechanical Engineering and Electronics Department and Economical Department were opened, new specialties appeared; the spectrum of research work has expanded. Now it is the largest technical institution of higher learning in the western region of Belarus. Since its foundation more than 18000 specialists have graduated from this Institution, which was incorporated as a State Technical University in 2000.

Development Tendencies

The development of the University is adapted to satisfy the needs of the Belarus Republic and of Brest region in specialists:

  • The conditions are being created for highly-qualified training of economists and managers;
  • The range of new specialties connected with electronics and computers is being expanded;
